COPD balloon therapy is a non-surgical (non-invasive) procedure performed via bronchoscopy. A thin catheter with a special braided balloon widens the narrowed bronchi and clears the thickened mucus layer to reopen the airways.
The procedure is performed endoscopically through the mouth. The braided balloon is inflated and deflated with adjustable pressure in narrowed areas to reopen the inner lining of the bronchus. It is a non-invasive method and takes about 30-45 minutes.
